FAQs
1. Will daily use of hand sanitizer or dish soap damage the stone?
No, the diamond is safe, but watch the gold. Lab-grown diamonds are chemically inert and will not be damaged by sanitizers, soaps, or lotions. However, frequent exposure to harsh chemicals (like bleach or heavy cleaning agents) can dull the shine of the gold setting over time or weaken the metal prongs. It is best to remove your ring when using harsh household cleaners, but regular hand washing is perfectly fine.
2. Which setting is safest for a daily wear ring?
Bezel or Channel settings are best. While high prong settings (like the classic 6-prong solitaire) look beautiful, they can snag on clothes or get knocked against furniture during daily chores. For daily wear in Beawar, we recommend a Bezel setting (where the gold surrounds the diamond rim) or a Channel setting (for bands). These protect the edges of the diamond and prevent it from getting loose.
3. Why is this better than "American Diamond" (AD) for daily use?
Longevity. American Diamonds (Cubic Zirconia) are porous and soft. If you wear an AD ring daily, it will absorb oil and soap, turning cloudy and dull within 3-6 months. It will also scratch easily. A Lab-Grown Diamond is non-porous and the hardest material on earth. It will repel dirt and stay sparkling for a lifetime, no matter how much you wear it.
4. Can I wear my ring to the gym or while doing heavy lifting?
It is not recommended. While the diamond won't break, the metal band can bend. Gold is a soft metal. Gripping heavy gym weights or handlebars can warp the shape of the ring (making it oval instead of round), which can loosen the grip on the diamond and cause it to fall out.
5. Is it safe to sleep with my diamond ring on?
Generally yes, but be careful with prongs. If you have a smooth band or bezel set ring, sleeping with it is fine. However, if you have a large solitaire with sharp prongs, it can snag on your bedding or scratch you/your partner while you sleep. Over time, catching on threads can pull a prong open.
6. Will the diamond get loose if I wear it on a scooter/bike daily?
Vibration is a factor. The constant vibration from riding a scooter on uneven roads can theoretically loosen micropavé settings (tiny diamonds) over many years. For daily commuters, we suggest a sturdy band with a slightly thicker shank (band) rather than a delicate, whisper-thin wire design.
7. If a small diamond falls out of my daily wear band, is it expensive to replace?
Not at all. One of the huge benefits of lab-grown diamond jewelry is that the replacement cost for small side stones (called "pointers") is very low compared to mined diamonds. If you lose a tiny stone from your eternity band after rough use, replacing it is quick, easy, and very affordable at your local jeweler.
