1. If I buy a huge 2-carat lab solitaire, will it look "fake"?

Only if you act guilty about it. Scientifically, it looks identical to a mined diamond because it is a diamond. It has the same refractive index (sparkle) and dispersion (fire). The only thing that makes a big diamond look "fake" is a bad cut. We prioritize "Excellent" and "Ideal" cuts so your stone flashes light correctly, rather than looking like a dull piece of glass.

2. Do lab-grown solitaires pass the "Diamond Tester"?

Yes. If you walk into a jeweler and they use a standard thermal diamond tester, it will beep. It tests for heat conductivity, and since lab diamonds are pure carbon just like mined ones, they pass with flying colors. (Note: Only advanced CVD/HPHT specific testers used in labs can tell the difference).

3. Why are solitaires so much cheaper if they are "real"?

Think of ice. Ice from a glacier (mined) is expensive because you have to travel to the Arctic and chip it off. Ice from your freezer (lab) is cheap because you made it at home. They are both H2O.
